Spring Anime Season 2012   Leave a comment

Well it appears that the list for the Winter Season is out. This season seems to be composed of some sequels and the rest being new series from manga’s or light novels. It seems that I’ll be watching a lot of shows but out of the many shows I’m watching I’ll blog between 2-4 shows from the Winter Season. I will mention a few anime that are carrying on from the Autumn/Fall Season are, Aquarion Evol, Area no Kishi, Danball Senki W, Hunter x Hunter, Mobile Suit Gundam AGE, Mō-retsu Uchū Kaizoku, Phi Brain: Kami no Puzzle and Smile Precure. Anyway if you want to get the entire Winter listing please go to MOON PHASE alternatively if you want the specific airtimes check out synobi’s calendar (though be warned its in Japanese), finally if you want to know who is fansubbing which anime go to Fansub Wiki’s Page. I will now tell you a few of the anime’s on the Autumn/Fall Season I will omit the kids shows but they’ll be in the table I just won’t give any information besides that, I will also mention the long running shows that have been airing for a while minus One Piece.

Quick side note: In japan the time is given in 24-hour, relative time format which technically means the times are extended to show which day they primarily belong too. So for example, Thursday morning at 2:00am would become Wednesday 26:00 to show that the episode aired late Wednesday night. Before I forget I’m from the United Kingdom so I write the date differently from Americans and Japanese i.e. date, month, year 02/01/2011. Additionally the clocks will be moved forward so now the time difference between the U.K. and Japan is 8 hours instead of 9 hours.

The story takes place in Seikyou Private School. A facility that consists of multiple buildings that connect together to accommodate both junior and senior high school students. Sixty years of ongoing renovations and expansions have meant most of the old inner structures have been sealed and abandoned. Classrooms turned into storage rooms, staircases no longer in use, hallways like dark alleys. With the existence of such a maze-like building, it is only natural that rumours of the paranormal would appear. One day first-year middle school student Teiichi Niiya gets lost in this maze and by chance arrives at an old storage room. This is where he meets Yuuko Kanoe, a mysterious girl with raven black, long silky hair and a tall and slender figure, who introduces herself as the ghost of the old school building. For some unexplainable reason Niiya is the only one able to see this spirit and she herself does not have any recollection of the reasons or time of her death, nor any lingering feelings about life itself. Nishimi Kaoru has moved from city to city and school to school because of his father’s job. So the first day at his new school was just routine for him. Being intellectual and the new transfer student, he has always been seen as an outcast and all Kaoru had to do was bear it until the next time he moved. But things were slightly different this time. First, he started to get close to the class president, Mukae Ritsuko, and, secondly, unlikely as it seemed, grew closer to Kawabuchi Sentaro. Sentaro was infamous for getting into fights, skipping class and was an overall bad boy. Strangely enough, the three of them find common ground in music, namely jazz, and Kaoru finds himself actually enjoying the new town.
