An overview of the Series:
A Japanese drama adaptation of a is a shōjo manga series written by Hisaya Nakajo and was aired on Fuji TV. The show follows the protagonist Ashiya Mizuki, a Japanese girl living in California, USA with her parents. one day she sees the young athlete Sano Izumi compete in high jumping on television and begins to idolize him. When an incident involving defending Mizuki from some gangsters gets Sano injured (while on a training trip in America) and results in him stopping high jumping, wrecked with guilt Mizuki travels to go to Japan to help Sano find his love for high jumping. However, Sano goes to an all-boys school that is famous for its handsome students, so Mizuki disguises herself as a boy by cutting her hair and enrols in Ohsaka High in order to meet with him again.
My Opinion
This is a lovely and light hearted series with much promise. It has everything from love triangles and humour to drama and even at one point a ghost. It kept me thoroughly entertained and I cry from laughter at nearly any episode I watch. It took me a while to get over the shock to watch a very anime based cinematography done by humans instead of cartoons, but that doesn’t mean the story or acting was lacking in anything. I would recommend this series to anyone.
